Today is my birthday. Yay!!!! I accidentally deleted and screwed up my website webliography page. But it's all fixed now, thanks to Mr. Crist's wicked technology magic.

Not looking too shabby

I sold out all the copies I bought. I am going to order more after school today. My mom finally is reading the story. She said it was "interesting" which is her nice way of saying, "it's ok." One comforting thought is it isn't an adult book. It is more geared towards teenagers. A good friend of mine, Lauren, who is a tough critic when it comes to books and movies, said that she liked it and it's pace. Shannon also said she liked it...gonna ask her in Calculus what I did well. *Two thumbs up!* I just hope a lot more people enjoy it.

Literature Review DONE

Ok. Well, it's almost done. The thing is written, self edited, peer edited, but it has yet to be teacher edited. Yay! It's an eleven page paper but writing it really wasn't all that bad. I got to talk about a topic that I really love and find intriguing: the writing process and book publishing industry. I guess now it is time to work on my website. I think getting it done this week is a good goal. I can't remember if I said this in an other post, but my books have been SHIPPED! I got a notification from Lulu.com about it last Thursday. It's supposed to take 3-5 days for them to get here, so I should have them sometime this week. The wait is driving me crazy.

Tired

After all that excitement, I am beat. And I have a lot more to write for my literature review and it's six pages as of now. Wish me luck.

OMG

My book is published!!!!!! Currently it is selling at $7.50, plus a $1.50 fee (this will fluxiate) for me to ship the books to my house. At that price, it will take 22 people to buy my book in order for me to breakeven. I bought 20 copies (no not all for myself, to sell), a copyright, and shipping & handling fees for $196.35. That's a really good deal, believe it or not. It's just gonna take awhile because I'm selling my book for so cheap.

Book Quotes

I'm looking at three different book printers: Book Logix, Lewis Color, and Lulu.com. Early this morning, I was talking to Ms. Johnson (mentor) about getting book quotes. All that means is I was getting the projected cost for printing my book. For 10 books, Lewis Color would charge me about $62. I have yet to hear back from Book Logix but for Lulu.com, it would cost me about $55 for digital printing. The turnover is also very impressive. It would take about 24 hours to print my books and anywhere from 3-5 days to have them shipped to me. I am very excited and can't wait to get the last of my edits back so I can start getting all of this put together. My goal is to place my order with one of these printers by the end of this week, so I can have my printed books by the end of this May.
